Tai Chi and Qi Gong

with Louis Knox

Tai Chi and Qi Gong have both become very popular in the United States over the last decade, probably because of their value as an approach to exercise that is effective, calming and accessible to almost anyone. Many people have seen photos of hundreds of Chinese performing synchronized Tai Chi in the park every morning, and they have become curious about its benefits. Louis Knox will be glad to help you find out!

Tai Chi

Tai Chi Tai Chi is a choreographed set of martial art postures that are accessible to everyone regardless of their current physical fitness level. It is designed to increase your power and agility by using your inner energy. Like Qi Gong, Tai Chi helps improve your range of motion and lung capacity, and it places a special emphasis on balance.

Tai Chi When people practice Tai Chi, they often enjoy reduced stress and a feeling of well-being. If you are interested, some time will also be spent learning simple self-defense techniques.

Tai Chi Here at the Center, we are currently working on the Wu style, characterized by an ergonomically-beneficial stance and small circular movements. Classes are usually outside unless the weather is bad, and they are usually small and informal so that you can get personalized attention from the instructor. People of all ages are welcome.

Wild Goose Qi Gong

Qi Gong Wild Goose Qi Gong (sometimes spelled "Chi Kung") is a choreographed set of Chinese exercises designed to improve your overall health and well-being. It is easier to learn and less physically demanding than Tai Chi.

Qi Gong Based on the flowing and graceful movements of geese, it uses stretching and other techniques to open the acupuncture meridians and increase your vitality and energy. When you practice Qi Gong, you will enjoy a greater range of motion, improved balance, reduced mental stress and a feeling of rejuvenation.

Qi Gong There are 64 postures in the Wild Goose form of Qi Gong. Classes tend to be small, which allows you to obtain personal attention and get any questions answered that you might have.
