3-D Collage

What is 3-D Collage

Creativity is a celebration of life and an expression of self. It's not limited to paintings and statues; instead, we all express our creativity by literally recreating ourselves moment to moment through our beliefs and choices in life. We are no longer victims of our circumstances when we start using our creativity to shape the person we want to be. In this session, you'll explore how you've used your creativity in the past and then put it to use in discovering the inner you.

Whenever we do some kind of creative work, we're revealing something about ourselves whether we know it or not. I discovered this for myself while doing my artwork. I instinctively use the subjects I do because they symbolize something for me. For example, whenever I set the table or decorate my house or pick clothes to wear, I choose certain colors and items because something draws me to them, because they symbolize something for me. I think we all surround ourselves with objects that have meaning to us.

During a 3-D Collage session, I ask you what's going on in your life, so that both of us can get a clearer idea of the personal growth issues you are facing right now. Then I take you into a meditation, where I suggest that you can get some information that can be a key to unlock one of the puzzles that's holding you back.

Then, I leave you in a room filled with objects of all kinds, colors, shapes and sizes, with the instruction to see what you're drawn to and get a basket and collect all the things that appeal to you. After you've done that, you have a chance to sort through them and arrange them on a table, using fabric and all the items you have collected to make a 3-D collage.

After you've completed this process, I'll join you and we have a chance to talk about what the items mean to you and how those insights might be useful in your life. Then we take photos of your collage so that you can essentially take it home with you. And most people find that as time goes on, they realize additional things about themselves and their life as a result of the work (and play!) they did in creating their collage.

I am an artist who is fascinated with color and form, and I love to experiment. I have a playful attitude in both my life and my art that has been instrumental in keeping me balanced and happy, and I recommend it for everyone. I started painting when I was in the fifth grade, and my style has become something like that of a whimsical Picasso.

In addition, I have a degree in Art Education, and I am fascinated with metaphysics and personal growth. I've used those three tools in my quest to be more healthy, strong and happy. And since these three areas have been so helpful for me, it occured to me that they might be beneficial to others as well. 3-D Collage grew out of that realization.
