Hypnosis

What is Hypnosis?

Pamela P. Latham

Every day, we all move naturally through many different states of consciousness. We're fast asleep before the alarm clock rings, then we're drowsy and half-awake before our first cup of coffee. We deliberately cycle through states of hyper-alertness (at that meeting with the important client), pleasant daydreams of what that vacation at the beach will be like (during which we may be unaware of all of our co-workers), and a state of complete auto-pilot on the drive home.

Hypnosis is intentionally using that natural ability to shift between consciousness states, as a way of accomplishing a goal or learning something about ourselves. Hypnotherapy is an ancient healing art that draws on many fields of knowledge, including philosophy, theology and psychology. Through hypnotherapy, clients have access to the wisdom of their body, mind, emotions and spirit, as well as to a Larger Wisdom beyond their personal selves. By being open to all of these sources of insight during hypnosis, clients gain experiences and information designed specifically for their needs.

Changing Habits and Improving Motivation

In hypnosis, clients will often want to change some aspect of their life or habits. Hypnosis is ideally suited for this process. Though it is not a "magic pill," hypnosis can help you tap into the desires you already have, feel them more deeply, and then express them more effectively. This allows you to begin taking the necessary steps in your life to bring about the needed changes. You'll find yourself better prepared to start creating the life you have always wanted.

Past Life Therapy

Most people think they know what Past Life Therapy is. They probably don't. In Past Life Therapy we access the soul, the essence of a person through relaxation and imagery. We may take a trip into something that seems like a past life, or we may not. The so-called "past lives" are merely a tool we use to access our higher self.

Our higher self might want to tell us a story of what could have happened in the past, or what could happen in the future. Or it might show us visions, or let us hear -- smell -- taste something to convey the message it wants us to understand. So during a session we may not even talk about past lives (and there's no need to believe in past lives to enjoy and benefit from a session). Instead, we simply provide a way to let your higher self communicate in whatever way it wants to.

Fees and Scheduling Appointments

Call the Center at (512) 441-8988 to make an appointment, or email us at Hypnosis@HumanPotentialCenter.org. The fee for both Hypnosis and Past Life Therapy is $75 per session, and sessions usually last between an hour and an hour and a half.

Over the years we have found that several Past Life Therapy sessions often reveal a pattern that is more helpful than can usually be obtained from just one. To encourage clients to sign up for several, we offer a $25 discount when you purchase three sessions at a time, and a $75 discount when you purchase six sessions at a time. That's $200 instead of $225 for three sessions, and $375 instead of $450 for six sessions. (This offer is good for Past Life Therapy only.)
