Pamela P. Latham calls herself a counselor because she has been licensed to counsel professionally by the state of Texas. Even though she has met the required education, internships and testing to be a Licensed Professional Counselor, she does not think she does what most think of as counseling. Realizing that she counsels out of the Human Potential Center, a center which emphasizes wellness, gives a hint of how she believes herself to be different from expected.
She will look for wellness and will expect her clients to tell her their needs rather than the other way around. While she tends to follow Carl Rogers' ideas of counseling and the spiritual is firmly planted in her heart, she remains dedicated to meeting her client just where she or he is. It may be obvious that without diagnosis, the use of insurance is impossible, and as her one hour fee is $75, a plan can be reached for clients who need that.
Pamela P. Latham has a combination of formal and informal qualifications in guiding clients to find these insights within themselves. In her practice she specializes in Spiritual Transformation Counseling. She has a BA in speech, education, and psychology and an MA in counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is certified in Reiki, hypnotherapy and past life therapy. She is also a graduate of the Nine Gates Mystery School. Since she is an insatiable reader, she has devoured hundreds of books related to psychology, metaphysics, spiritual emergence and healing. This allows her to bring a unique and valuable combination of insight, experience and information to clients.
